<p><p><b>About the Role :</b><br/><br/></p><p>We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team.<br/><br/></p><p>This critical role will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance optimization of our SQL Server databases, with a specific focus on supporting our Intelligent Traffic Management Systems (ITMS).<br/><br/></p><p>You will play a key part in ensuring the availability, security, and integrity of the data that drives our ITMS solutions.<br/><br/></p><p>This role requires a deep understanding of SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and security best practices, as well as experience with handling large datasets and real-time data Responsibilities Administration :</b></p><p><br/></p>- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases (including but not limited to the latest versions) in production, development, testing, and staging environments.<br/><br/></p><p>- Manage database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, etc.<br/><br/></p><p>- Monitor database health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.<br/><br/></p><p>- Implement and manage database replication and high availability solutions (e.g, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, mirroring).<br/><br/></p><p>- Perform database upgrades and patching.<br/><br/></p><p>- Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (e.g , PowerShell, T-SQL).<br/><br/></p><p>- Manage database storage and capacity Tuning :</b></p><p><br/></p>- Analyze database performance bottlenecks and optimize query execution plans.<br/><br/></p><p>- Implement effective indexing strategies.<br/><br/></p><p>- Monitor and tune database server resources (CPU, memory, I/O).<br/><br/></p><p>- Conduct performance testing and benchmarking.<br/><br/></p><p>- Identify and resolve long-running queries and & Recovery :</b></p><p><br/></p>- Develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies.<br/><br/></p><p>- Perform regular database backups and restores.<br/><br/></p><p>- Test and validate backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.<br/><br/></p><p>- Implement and manage disaster recovery Data Handling :</b></p><p><br/></p>- Design and optimize databases to support the specific requirements of ITMS, including real-time data ingestion, processing, and storage.<br/><br/></p><p>- Manage and optimize databases for traffic management systems, including handling large volumes of data from various sources (e.g , sensors, cameras).<br/><br/></p><p>- Develop and maintain data integration processes between different systems.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ensure data quality and integrity within the ITMS database environment.<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience with time-series data and related database optimization techniques is a & Compliance :</b></p><p><br/></p>- Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.<br/><br/></p><p>- Manage user accounts, permissions, and roles.<br/><br/></p><p>- Implement data encryption at rest and in transit.<br/><br/></p><p>- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.<br/><br/></p><p>- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and data privacy & Communication :</b></p><p><br/></p>- Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal database performance and availability.<br/><br/></p><p>- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.<br/><br/></p><p>- Participate in on-call rotation for database support.<br/><br/></p><p>- Document database configurations, procedures, and best :</b></p><p><br/></p>- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.<br/><br/></p><p>- Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator (5+ years preferred).<br/><br/></p><p>- Extensive knowledge of SQL Server architecture, administration, and performance tuning.<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience with ITMS or similar real-time data-intensive systems is highly desirable.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong understanding of database security best practices.<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.<br/><br/></p><p>- Proficiency in T-SQL and scripting languages (e.g, PowerShell).<br/><br/></p><p>- Experience with database monitoring and performance analysis tools.<br/><br/></p><p>- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.<br/><br/></p><p>- Strong communication and collaboration skills.<br/><br/></p><p>- Microsoft SQL Server certifications (e.g , MCSA, MCSE) are a plus</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
